Registration
Confirm the registration number matches the animal in front of you. Confirm the breed and sex match the papers. Look at the etch date — fresh registrations on a mature animal are a flag.

Pedigree
Walk back at least two generations on the verifier app. Every parent should also have a chainBreed-anchored credential. Missing or unverified sires/dams are common at the seam where fraud enters.

DNA
If the credential shows a DNA flag, the parentage is lab-confirmed against the registry's reference panel. If it doesn't, you're relying on the seller's word for lineage.

Health
Coggins, BVD-PI, OFA — whichever applies. Confirm the test date is within the window your buyer protocol requires. Re-used test results are a common trick.

Ownership
For brand-inspected livestock, confirm the brand registration matches the seller. Mismatches mean the chain of custody broke somewhere.
